Specsavers rated one of the UK’s best employers

Specsavers has been ranked 23rd in the top 50 best places to work  in the UK. This is the first time the high street optical chain has taken part in the Great Place to Work survey, a global benchmark which gathers feedback from members of staff.

At least 65% of employees must report a consistently positive experience before companies are certified by the scheme. In the UK, 78% of workers backed Specsavers.

They praised the opportunities offered to develop and grow. A positive workplace culture and the level of care for employees were the other main reasons for rating the business so highly.

Chief executive John Perkins said: “I am delighted that during our first year of taking part in the UK’s Great Place to Work survey, Specsavers has been recognised among the best workplaces in the country.

“I’m particularly proud, and humbled, given that the achievement is only made possible by the hard work of our people and the feedback they’ve shared about their experiences of working here.

“Our ranking among so many other brilliant organisations on this list continues to drive our ambition in making life at Specsavers truly special.”

The firm has been certified as a Great Place to Work in 12 countries and is ranked the 12th Best Workplace in Europe.

Great Place to Work has surveyed over 100 million employees around the world since 1992. Find out more at www.greatplacetowork.co.uk.
